Head Coach Bart Shuman

Coach Shuman received is B.S. and M. Ed. in Health and Physical Education from Valdosta State University.  He played baseball for VSU and was a member of the 1979 National Championship team.

After graduation, Coach Shuman began his coaching career as head coach at Berrien High where his 1988 team went undefeated going 31-0 and winning a State Championship.  He then became an assistant coach at Valdosta State with the legendary Coach Tommy Thomas. After coaching at VSU, Shuman became the Head Baseball Coach at Valdosta in 1996, spending over 20 years coaching football and baseball at Valdosta High before retiring in 2017. 

 

Coach Shuman returned in 2023 as the head baseball coach and teaches Physical Education at Valdosta High.  Coach Shuman has accumulated over 500 career victories as Head Coach along with being inducted into the Georgia High School Dugout Club Hall of Fame in 2013.

 

 

He is married to the former Becky Griffin.  They have 3 children, Scott, Sloan (Vann Pitts) and Seth.  The also have two grandchildren Patton and Presley.  They are members of the Hahira United Methodist Church. 

Coach Keith McConnehead

Keith McConnehead is a graduate of Valdosta High where he was a 3 sport athlete.  Keith played football, baseball, and wrestled at Valdosta High School.  He continued his baseball playing career at Bethune Cookman where he lettered for 2 years. 

 

After graduation Coach Mac began his coaching career.  Keith has been a Wildcat football coach and baseball coach for the Wildcats for over 20 years and is currently a varsity baseball assistant and the head coach of the junior varsity team. In 2023 Coach McConnehead was awarded the assistant coach of the year by the Georgia Dugout Club!

Coach Mario Lampkin

Mario Lampkin, a native of Ocilla, Georgia brings over 10 years of baseball experience at the youth and travel baseball levels.  Lampkin is a 2007 and 2014 graduate of Albany State University. 

 

Coach Lampkin serves as an assistant baseball coach for the Wildcats Varsity and Junior Varsity baseball teams.  Coach Lampkin currently serves as a Special Education Math teacher at Valdosta High School.

 

Coach Lampkin and his wife, Tiffany have two sons, Braeden and Brennan.

Coach Garrett Lassiter

Garrett Laseter graduated from Echols County High School in 2011. He then furthered his baseball career for two years at Brewton Parker College and then his final 2 years at Thomas University.  

​

Prior to joining the Wildcats, Coach Lassiter was an assistant coach at Echols County for 4 years.  He and his wife Teri, have one daughter, Cali.
