Doug Henderson III was a proud son of Valdosta, Georgia, remembered for his character, humility, and the way he cared for others. He lived with integrity and purpose, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In honor of Doug’s life and the values he stood for, a The Doug Henderson Foundation was created in his name to continue his legacy. The foundation reflects Doug’s heart for helping others and serves as a lasting reminder that his impact did not end with his passing.

Though his time was brief, Doug’s life continues to matter through the lives touched in his memory. He will always be remembered, deeply missed, and honored through the work carried on in his name.

James Eunice

In January 2011, James, a 17-year-old high school senior from South Georgia, went missing while duck hunting in Lake Park, GA. After a 17-day search involving over 30 teams from three states, James was recovered by Air Force Pararescue from Moody Air Force Base. While the search story is remarkable, the true impact of James’ life is found in how he lived and how his legacy continues today.

James lived intentionally for Christ, loved others unconditionally, and made everyone feel valued. As his coach once said, “James didn’t have a group—everybody was James’ group.” When asked about his future, James simply replied, “All I want to do is make a difference in the lives of other people.”

Through the incredible support of the community, the James Eunice Charity Fund was established to continue that mission. Since 2011, the fund has given back more than $840,000 to the community, supporting local charities and awarding over 900 scholarships to graduating seniors across South Georgia and North Florida.

James’ words, “The Clock is Ticking,” have become the mission of the foundation—a reminder to live with purpose, love boldly, and invest in others. His story continues to inspire, proving that one ordinary life, fully surrendered to God, can leave an extraordinary legacy.

Colton Shaw was a beloved 14-year-old, whose life left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A freshman at Valdosta High School, Colton was passionate about baseball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his sisters.

He was a member of the Valdosta High School Wildcats and played on the junior varsity baseball team, where he shared his love of the game with teammates and coaches. Colton was also an active member of Redland Baptist Church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, living out his faith with a joyful spirit and kindness toward everyone he met.

On March 25, 2015, during a junior varsity baseball game in Moultrie, Georgia, Colton was struck in the head by an errant throw while in the dugout. He was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries the following day. The tragedy deeply affected his school, community, and teammates, prompting an outpouring of support, prayer vigils, for students and families.

Colton’s legacy is one of genuine warmth, faith, and enthusiasm for life. He never met a stranger and showed God’s love in everything he did. Though taken far too soon, his memory continues to inspire others to live with courage, compassion, and joy.
